"There is not one word of Pauline Christianity in the characteristic utterances of Jesus…There has really never been a more monstrous imposition perpetrated than the imposition of Paul's soul upon the soul of Jesus."

GEORGE BERNARD SHAW - ANDROCLES & THE LION

"PAUL WAS THE GREAT CORYPHAEUS, AND FIRST CORRUPTER OF THE DOCTRINES OF JESUS."

(THOMAS JEFFERSON)

Despite attempts by several post-Enlightenment authors – such as Albert Schweitzer, George Bernard Shaw and Hyam Maccoby, to name but a few – to draw attention to the true nature of the self-appointed apostle Paul, and the implications for both Orthodox and Western Christology (and indeed present-day Christian faith), Christians continue to consider Paul to be the Paramount Apostle. For modern Christians, the very idea of doubting the sincerity of Paul would be at best unsettling and at worst anathema. And who could blame them? One can appreciate the questions that would assail their minds. Had his epistles been false, how could Paul have managed to get thirteen of them into the New Testament canon, regarded as divinely inspired? Without Paul, would Europe have ever known the message of Christ?

In short: How could early European Christians have got things so wrong? Most Christians would be reluctant to challenge views on Christ that have remained entrenched and celebrated for over 2000 years.

And yet, in "Paul & the Pharisee Conspiracy Against Jesus", Syed M.S. Nasser is asking readers to leave their comfort zone and do exactly that. Using his skills as a contract lawyer, he demonstrates that the devil really is in the detail. Be prepared for a journey back in time through a new and fresh reading of biblical and extra-biblical evidence for all those scriptural and historical details either genuinely missed or deliberately glossed over by successive generations professing belief in Christ. It is a fascinating read, filled with all the ingredients of the best human dramas: greed, jealousy, ambition, intrigue, conspiracy and crime. The picture of Paul that emerges from this captivating study will shock many to the core, and will shake the very foundations of their religion.

But all is not bleak. If they patiently and dispassionately read through this fully-referenced book, Christians will emerge with a clear view of the real Jesus and his message, rid of the myths and anti-Judaic theology created by Paul to serve the purpose of his Pharisee benefactors: to prevent Jesus’ success among the Israelites. Moreover, the author has left much for readers of the Jewish faith to re-evaluate their position vis-à-vis Jesus’ claim to be the awaited Messiah. He shows how for centuries Jews, as well as European Christians, have been deceived by Paul and his Pharisee masters into believing that Jesus had brought a new religion, one that is separate from Judaism.

More importantly – and this is one of the most interesting aspects of this book – not only does Syed M.S. Nasser unearth some very important biblical prophecies regarding a Universal Savior prophesied by Christ and by Israelite prophets before him, but he also identifies the Antichrist and the civilization which the Antichrist has spawned. In view of the biblical warnings regarding the fearsome way that this civilization will come to an end – the signs of which are already looming large – readers would be well-advised to read the book from cover to cover and reflect deeply on the message it gives to the followers of all three Abrahamic faiths. As such, in "Paul & the Pharisee Conspiracy Against Jesus", the author has shown that the deconstruction of Paul’s conspiracy is more important today than it ever was.

“So do not be afraid of them [the Pharisees], for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known” (Mat 10:26 NIV)

One misconception readers may have upon reading the title is that this book will be one of many pre-existing ones that will attack Christianity with the sole purpose of discrediting it; however Mr S. Nasser does the exact opposite. He encourages or more potently, challenges, the reader to question their faith with the sole purpose of strengthening it. He brilliantly navigates the reader, giving them a well-referenced and thorough understanding of Christianity, its history and the impact it has had on people through the ages. It instructs the reader to restore the biblical texts to their former glory and to awaken their minds to the many interpolations that can be found in the holy texts.

What the writer does well, is to explain high volumes of information without ever coming across condescendingly and he starts from a place that will be attractive for any reader of any level of understanding of Christianity and steers them through, making carefully thought-out points regarding the real purpose of Jesus’ prophethood and how Paul cleverly uses a base understanding to almost create a whole new religion – something which as the writer explains, has been prophesied by Jesus himself. Furthermore, he highlights the hypocrisy found within his actions and the inconsistency of his words, which may make the reader wonder how people still hold value in him.

The reader may at first be held back by the size of the book (it is almost 700 pages) but once you begin, it is very hard to put down and you often feel as if you are sat with the writer listening as you go on.
